Frequently Asked Questions

How Long are sessions?

Sessions are 45-50 minutes and for couples there can be extended sessions available at additional costs.

Will we meet online or in person?

At this time I only have availability to meet via Telehealth, meaning online. If meeting in person is a non negotiable or very strong preference, please reach out and we can see what we can do!

For couple or family sessions, do we have to be in the same location?

Not necessarily, we can explore if it would be an appropriate option.

What if I can’t afford your fee?

I do reserve a couple of slots to be at a discounted rate, known as a sliding scale. Please contact me and we can see if there are any slots available. If we are unable to, I’d be happy to refer you to others that may be able to accommodate your need.

What is your training and Experience?

I received a bachelors in Human Development and Psychology from Life Pacific University and a Masters at Pepperdine University in Clinical Psychology with emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy.

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

I’ve been trained in a psychodynamic approach, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and certified in Prepare and Enrich.

I’m certified by the Institute of Biblical Counseling and Discipleship (IBCD) as a Biblical Counselor.

What’s next or How Do we get started?

You can call me at (626)386-8020 or email me at christina@gatewayofhopechristiancounseling.com.

We can arrange a 10-15 minute consultation where you can share what brings you in and what you’re looking for, and to answer any questions you may have, and I can share a bit more about my approach. From there we will look at scheduling our first session!

“But then I will win her back once again.
I will lead her into the desert
and speak tenderly to her there.
I will return her vineyards to her
and transform the Valley of Trouble into a

gateway of hope.

She will give herself to me there,
as she did long ago when she was young,
when I freed her from her captivity”

Hosea 2:14-15
